From Elton: we’re going, going to kigali, gali…

OK, so we’re going to Rwanda… But right now we’re at the midway travel point to get there – it’s very early a.m. time in the Brussels Airport.  Sporadic thoughts about the times ahead are as follows:

R is for Reality Check: I’m about to engage in first hand encounters with people who experienced and survived genocide in my lifetime.

W is for Wondering: Curiosity about the idiosyncrasies, the mannerisms, the look and feel of everything, the kids, the food, the stories, the future.

A is for Anticipation: I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to become a primary source -  make my own observations, conclusions.

N is for Needs Assessment: What exactly is going on at this place they call ASYV? How far along are they? What’s going on there right now? When will it be ready?

D is for Delight: I am really excited about the opportunity to be engaging in this adventure. It’s unique in the realm of travel because it’s nothing like traveling for work and it’s not like going on a vacation. It’s in a place of its own.

A is for Arrival. Are we there yet?
